About the Event

Are you thinking about taking your children out of the centre to explore local parks or bushland? Maybe you are trying to build more nature-based focus in to your curriculum? This workshop is a must to learn all about risk assessment and getting the most out of your visits.

This workshop is designed to build the fundamental knowledge and considerations in taking children out of your centre to local parks, wildspaces or bushland.

Learning Outcomes:

- Learn about the benefits of nature-based curriculum and outdoor education

- Map your values and beliefs about why you want to leave your centre and how you want to connect it to your existing program

- Analyse examples of risk assessment and compare risk with hazard

- Discuss the benefits of risk taking and learn how to use this as an advocacy tool with famileis and the regulator

- See new ways of documenting your journey
